Pastor Lenier Furr
Pastor Furr is a native of Richmond County but lived for the past thirty- eight years in the coastal counties of North Carolina.
Pastor Furr started his ministry in 1990 as a Methodist minister. He served Pleasant Grove UMC and then Jordan’s Chapel until 2003. He finished the Course of Study at Duke University in 1999.
After being ordained a Baptist Minister in 2004, he was called by Silver Lake Baptist in Wilmington, NC and served there until 2017. Thereafter, he served as an Interim Pastor in three churches.
He has four children, daughters and son in laws and grandchildren that fill his heart. Much of his free time is spent with his wife and youngest son Jackson, and his church family.
Pastor Furr believes that God has called him to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in these challenging times with honesty and with love. His favorite past time is found in teaching God’s Holy and life-changing Word.
Dr. Kimberly Goard, Music Director
Dr. Kimberly Goard has been walking with Christ since the age of four and has been blessed to serve Him through music and teaching for more than thirty years. Originally from Collinsville, Virginia, she now lives in Aberdeen, NC with her husband, son, two dogs, and a cat.
Her first church role began at age fifteen as a pianist in Virginia, and music has remained a central part of her ministry ever since. After marrying, she and her husband pursued their studies in Virginia and Kentucky, where God opened doors for both academic and ministry opportunities. She holds degrees in Economics (B.A.), Philosophy and Religious Studies (B.S.), Humanities (M.A.), Philosophy (M.A.), and a Ph.D. in Philosophy with a specialization in Ethics.
In addition to her musical ministry, her primary calling is academic. She serves as an Associate Professor of Philosophy and Choral Director at Richmond Community College. She is also the author of Unconditional Forgivingness, a work on the virtue of forgiveness, and Skills for Thoughtful Thought, a critical thinking textbook. Whatever the setting—classroom, choir, or church—she approaches her work through her Christian worldview and devotion.
She is grateful for her church family and the opportunity to grow in faith and service alongside them.

Pearl Wallace, Church Treasurer
Pearl has been our Treasurer for about 4 years. She oversees the financial aspects of the church including receipts, disbursements, bank reconciliations, HR and payroll and submitting monthly reports to the Deacons and church body.
She previously enjoyed a 35+ year career as a Controller in the automotive industry. She has served on many committees and teams such as Personnel Committee, Youth and Children Ministry Team, Senior Adults Committee, Family Life Center Committee, Nominating Committee, Sunday School Director, Outreach Committee, and Shower Committee. She has 8 stepchildren and numerous grandchildren.
She enjoys reading, cooking, and travel.
